A huge thank you to everyone who supported us at Dash in the Dark Southampton 2022.
As the sun began to set and the glow of neon paint filled the Southampton skies, more than 500 of our supporters gave us a night to remember.
So far, you have raised £12,256 – enough to cover the cost of three missions – with more donations coming in and being counted. There’s still time to collect your sponsorship and submit your donations.
Every penny raised will help us be there for those who need us most.
It was a joy to see our number one runner and past patient, Gwen Rickman, complete the course with her friends and family by her side.
In July last year, Gwen required our emergency critical care when she aquaplaned off the M3.
“Without the Air Ambulance, I wouldn’t be alive today. I’m a very lucky lady. I never thought I would need them. Hopefully I won’t need them again, but you never know,” says Gwen.
“If I can raise money to help keep them flying, then I will. We are all so grateful to them for keeping me alive. I will never be able to thank them enough.”
Keaan Amin, who crossed the finish line first, said:
“I live 20 yards from the helipad on the Isle of Wight. I had heard good things about Dash in the Dark and felt like I’ve got to run it. And I’m really glad I did. I only started running this year, but it was so much fun running with everyone; I couldn’t have asked for much more on a Saturday night.”
If you want to join us for Dash in the Dark 2023, now’s your chance. You can buy discounted tickets for just £10 per adult and £5 per child over on our website.
This offer runs until January 2023 so be quick!
Can’t wait another year? You’re in luck. We’re bringing Dash in the Dark to the Isle of Wight on Saturday 8 October.
