People looking to impact the lives of Ukrainian nationals fleeing the war in Ukraine, can donate a variety of in demand items via their local Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance recycling bank.
Together with our partners at Recycling Solutions Northwest Ltd, we are collecting a variety of high demand, essential items for the relief effort: Nappies, Baby Wipes, Vaseline, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Mouthwash, Bottled water, Soap, Shampoo, Shower gel, Bandages, Plasters, Toilet paper, Sanitary Towels, Baby formula, Canned and tinned foods, Dry food, Breakfast cereals, Tea and coffee, Medical supplies and Torches and batteries.
If you would like to donate any of the items listed to this cause, we ask that you please bag and mark them as such. However, the drivers will be able to separate and easily sort clothing and textiles from other items if this does not occur.
There will be no change to the clothing banks branding or solicitation statement. There is to be no financial gain from this operation and Recycling Solutions will absorb all costs involved for collection, storage, and onward distribution. We will not be accepting any cash or monetary donations either at the drop off points or the recycling banks.
If you would like to help, you can find your nearest clothing bank in the map below.
We will still be accepting regular clothing donations, these can be dropped off as usual, in unmarked bags to your local clothing bank.
Each year, an estimated 350,000 tonnes of used but still wearable clothing in the UK is sent to landfill – that’s around £140 million worth of clothes and textiles.
How does it work?
For every tonne of clothing collected, we are guaranteed to receive at least £210! All you have to do is contact Recycling Solutions via their website, email [email protected] or fill in the form below to book your collection slot. Please try to fill three bags or more, to help keep our drivers route as efficient as possible.
Do you have any previously loved items?
We have teamed up with Recycling Solutions to provide a home collection service, so you can pass on your unwanted clothes to us.
We ask that you please have a minimum of three bin bag size sacks to be collected.
Items we are currently able to accept:
- Clothes, including bras.
- Bags, belts and hats
- Sheets, towels, pillow cases and duvet cases (we cannot accept duvets).
Complete the form below to book a collection. Once you have submitted the form, you will receive a confirmation email. Should you not receive this confirmation, please email [email protected] to ensure your request has been received.
Can you host a bank?
Do you have space in your car park? Do you own or manage an area of land? We are on the look out for suitable, high traffic areas with nearby parking and spaces that will make a good home for our clothing banks. If you think you can help, we would love to hear from you.
