Jurassic Coast Walk in memory of Tony

Your support helps us be there for patients and their families when they need us most. Whether they’ve been involved in a road traffic collision or are having a severe medical emergency, you are by our side for every patient we attend.

On Saturday 18 May, Rebecca Davy is raising vital funds for us by taking part in the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge in memory of her father, Tony (74) who sadly passed away on 29 March 2024.

The 58km (36 miles) walk features stunning World Heritage coastline, starting at Corfe Castle and heading through Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. They will arrive at the finish line around 14-16 hours after setting off.

A usual game of golf

Tony was enjoying a game of golf at Sherfield Oaks Golf Course, Basingstoke, on Friday 22 March, as he did several times a week. While he was with his good friend Dermot, Tony collapsed. He was having a heart attack. Due to the severity of the emergency and the remote location, we were dispatched to provide critical care.

We were by Tony’s side within 23 minutes. The team got to work and began to stabilise Tony.

His daughter, Rebecca said:

“They worked extensively and transported him to Basingstoke and North Hampshire hospital, where he remained in the Intensive Care Unit for a week.

“The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance were there for Tony in his hour of need, and we want to raise money so they can help other members of the public and their families when it really matters.

“As a family we thank you for any kind donations you can provide.”
