Hip hip hooray for Hampshire Hoppit

Local trail runners raise more than £3,400 for their local Air Ambulance.

The elite trail race, organised by Tim Fowler, celebrated it’s 10th anniversary with more than 1,000 runners setting off across the picturesque hills near Watership Down on Sunday 15 June.

A team of our volunteers cheered on runners from an aid station in Hannington as they competed in 10k, half marathon and full marathon races.

A life-saving difference

After first announcing their support for our life-saving service, the Hampshire Hoppit team have helped to raise vital funds to keep our crew flying and saving lives.

Through donating the proceeds from T-shirt sales and a generous donation of £500 from Arlington Water – this year the team have raised an incredible £3,437 – enough to buy flight suits for seven members of our crew.

This vital piece of equipment ensures our crew are life-saving ready, 365 days a year. Watch the video below as Dr Louisa Chan explains more.

Lily Worth, Events Coordinator at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, said:

“The support we have so kindly received over the years from the team at Hampshire Hoppit has been nothing short of amazing. We have loved helping out at their events – it’s always such a fun atmosphere where our charity’s support is so well received.

“Thank you to everyone who so kindly helped to contribute to the very generous donation provided by merchandise profits, especially to Arlington Water. Congratulations to the team on a hugely successful 10th edition of this event and to all that took part!”
