Beach Dubbin’ 2023

More than 750 Volkswagens of all shapes and sizes took over Southsea Common at this year’s Beach Dubbin’ – with all proceeds coming to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The annual event, which sees owners display their cars and campervans, has raised almost £30,000 for us alone since 2018, not including this year’s total which is still being counted.

On Sunday 6 August, people at the event were treated to the ultimate VW show by the sea, with music, dancers, stands and stalls, including our mobile flight Sim Van.

A huge thank you to our team of volunteers: Jim, Simon, Karen, Jane and Angelo, who helped entertain the crowds and spread the word of our life-saving work.

Our Supporter Engagement Officer, Natalie Russell, said:

“The Beach Dubbin’ committee have once again outdone themselves, working exceptionally hard to deliver a successful show. They have been an instrumental pillar of support to our Critical Care Team since the show’s 2018 debut. The funding from this year’s event will help bring the tools and skills of a hospital emergency department to future patients who call for help.”
