Historic Commercial Vehicle Society – London to Brighton

Lorries, vans, buses, coaches, fire engines, taxis, tractor units and steam wagons. But not a helicopter in sight…

On Sunday May 8 hundreds of these classic vehicles took part in the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society London to Brighton.

One of those were a team from Kingswell Haulage on the Isle of Wight. Rob, from Kingswell Haulage, told us:

“We decided to start supporting Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as it is a critical service to the Island. The only other alternative is a one hour ferry journey, and this could be a life or death situation.

“We normally collect money using the vintage music organ, however this year we decided to take part in the London to Brighton ride with our 1947 Bedford OBT Lorry.

“Red Funnel kindly covered the cost of our ferry. We had a fantastic run, completing it in under 2 hours 45 minutes.”

Thank you so much to Rob, Becky and everyone who took part and supported the team on their journey.
