Wednesday 7th August
Do you have what it takes to help haul a mighty Boeing 737, weighing 35,000kg (or the equivalent of six elephants) 50 metres along Bournemouth Airport runway?
Sign up to compete in the Dorset Plane Pull challenge on Monday 26th August, and help raise vital funds for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA).
A bank holiday activity like no other, instead of boarding a plane, you and your team will have to pull together to see who can complete the challenge in the quickest time.
The Dorset Plane Pull challenge is a unique opportunity for both teams and individuals. Come along and be assigned a team on the day, or form your own team with colleagues, friends or family. Teams of up to 20 can take part, and volunteers will be on hand to help out smaller teams on the day, if necessary.
Community Relationships Manager at HIOWAA, Ian Browning, commented:
“We are incredibly excited to be taking part in our first ever Plane Pull challenge. Whether supporters want to test their strength, or have a fun day out with the family cheering on participants, this bank holiday activity has it all. As a charity, we rely solely upon the generosity of our local community, and events such as the Dorset Plane Pull help to keep our life-saving service operational.”
Whether you’re taking part in the pull, or coming along to support on the day, there will be plenty on offer to keep all ages of the family entertained, including: DJ, live bands, face painting, bouncy castle, children’s entertainer and lots more. There will also be on site catering serving food and drink all day.
The entry fee of just £18 per person will go towards keeping Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance operational 365 days a year. There are limited spaces available, with over half the positions already filled, so sign up soon to avoid missing out. The minimum age to take part is 14, with anyone between the age of 14-16 requiring an adult’s permission.
Now in its 11th year, The Dorset Plane Pull has raised over £130,000 for various charities throughout the region. To get involved and raise money for HIOWAA, please contact email@example.com
