Isle of Wight Ride4Life for HIOWAA!
Monday 11th June
Over 200 bikers took part in the first Ride4Life event for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) on Sunday 10th June.
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway in Havenstreet was the perfect setting to wave off 238 trikes, scooters and motorbikes for the 42 mile ride.
So far, the ride out has raised over £5,386 for HIOWAA!
Events Fundraiser, Sophie Gunner, said:
“We were delighted to bring our first Ride4Life to the Isle of Wight! The support we received was absolutely fantastic and we’re so grateful to all who came to the event, including our wonderful volunteers. We’re looking forward to doing it again next year!”
Richelle Butcher took part in Ride4Life and said:
“We had a great ride out and happy to support the Air Ambulance, they do an amazing job. Thank you.”
Aaron Marsh came from Oxford to take part in Ride4Life. He commented:
“Thank you for organising a great ride out on the Isle of Wight! Very much enjoyed myself.”
CEO of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Alex Lochrane, also took part in Ride4Life. He added:
“It was fabulous to see so many bikers out today supporting our first Ride4Life on the Isle of Wight. It was a brilliant ride; the sun was out and it all made for a very memorable day. Huge thanks to all our dedicated volunteers for their hard work and to the Island for their invaluable support.”
If you missed it, the next Ride4Life takes place on Sunday 16th September and will be setting off from HIOWAA airbase at Thruxton in Hampshire.
